Training Board

High View Farm offers limited availability for horses on training board.  Horses accepted in for training can be on either full or semi-rough board.  These horses are worked with at least once a day, 5-6 days a week by a High View Farm trainer.  Training schedules may vary depending on the horse.

Training board costs the same as the level of board the owner wants plus another $400/month.

Boarders NOT in training are invited to have a High View Farm trainer add training rides at $20 per ride.

We try to break things down in a way that owners know exactly what they are paying for and why their bill is the price it is.  We break it down into sections: cost of stall and the care we provide on a daily basis, price for the grain your horse eats, price of the hay your horse eats, and stall cleaning if your horse is on Full Board.

Prices are as follows:
  • $175 base (stall, AM and PM feeding and watering, turn-in, turn-out)
  • $8.50/lb/month for grain (a horse eating 4lbs/day would cost $34/month in grain)
  • $40/flake/month for hay (a horse eating 4 flakes of hay/day would cost $160/month in hay) Our flakes are determined NOT by what flakes off the bale, but by weight (4-5lb flake).
  • $90 daily stall cleaning (Full Board only)

In other words, "Blackie" is on Full Board and eats 4lbs of Ventura 1100/day and 4 flakes of hay/day.  His board is $459.
If "Blackie" was on Semi-Rough Board, his board would be $369.

**We feed a first-cut timothy mix hay and Ventura Performance 1100 (equivalent to Blue Seal's Dynasty Show) 11% pellet.
We also offer a Ventura senior feed and a low-carb option for the special needs horses.  Contact us for more information on those options.
